I write this from my home office in a celebritory motion, of having left a job I loved for the last two and half years! Leaving a toxic environment, I am no stranger too! But leave nevertheless I must! When you’ve built value and trust and customers have come to expect it, you can’t meander around and let that head to the junk yard! Taking a stand, or denying the nay-sayors their un-due is your responsibility. As money sometimes must, the sleezballs, come into the transaction with money but nothing else. No sense of morality, only  money and nothing else.

If someone is taking the high road, know  they take those steps sometimes in poverty. Not always but sometimes. And if the money is left on the table, know it will be there again!

The Power of a Positive no! Integrity is a word worth exploring. Whether it be a beacon of your own life or those around you!  My Dad used to say “If those around you are being fools, don’t join them!” and I agree with him. If people can’t see your value, vindicate yourself in moving on! You’ll be happier for it.

Boundaries are established in small incremental steps! Learn to say no, nicely. And say it often. Here are some ways to say that:

  1. This sounds like a project I just don’t have time to get too!
  2. I don’t drink during the week!
  3. You seem very excited about this and I’m glad for you, but it’s not do-able for me!
  4. Let me check my calendar and get back!
  5. Thank you for offering this to me, and I don’t have the time for this!
  6. Please offer this to someone else as I don’t have time for it!

Incremental steps can often lead to big changes in your life over time! And you’ll be happier for it!
